What Have We Been Doing in 2024?
2024 has been a whirlwind of exciting changes, milestones, and (yes, finally!) a Mashburn Zell Group blog update. Buckle up because we have plenty to share!
The Big Transition: Officially, The Mashburn Zell Group
We’re excited to announce that The Mashburn Zell Group is here to stay! This year marked one of our final transitions. We brought together our passion, experience, and shared vision for the future of real estate. Blake Mashburn has taken on a consulting role. He’s still here with sage advice. He shares witty insights and the best real estate stories. Lori has been a wonderful part of our journey. She is off exploring new opportunities. We know she’s always rooting for us.
2024: A Record Year for Sam and Brian
This year, we have a theme for Ventura County’s FOOD SHARE CAN-tree. It is “I think I CAN, We think we CAN, Together We CAN.” This motto feels especially fitting for us. It reminds us that while individual effort is essential, real success comes from teamwork. Hard work and the support of our community are also crucial. Our clients’ and colleagues’ trust and encouragement fueled every record-breaking sale. Every late night was also driven by their belief. Every bit of hustle this year was possible because of their support.
Sam and Brian poured their energy into every step of the process. They focused on strategizing for sellers. They also concentrated on finding the right fit for buyers. Our “can-do” attitude was the backbone of a year filled with hard work, learning, and dedication to serving Ventura County. In every deal, we felt that collective push from our clients and team. This proved that when we come together, amazing things happen. Thank you, Ventura County, for believing in us and making 2024 one for the books!
Building Knowledge and Community: Our First Trust Seminar
One of our proudest moments this year was hosting our first-ever Trust and Estate Planning Seminar. Local expert Jessica L. Villar, Esq. led the session, and we opened up our office for an evening of learning and conversation. Co-hosting with Wendy Russell-CrossCountry Mortgage our goal was to offer clients and friends practical insights into trust planning. We wanted to provide knowledge about real estate, empowering them to make informed decisions about their futures.
It was a night filled with great questions, engaging discussions, and a sense of community. We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces (and some new ones!) eager to dive into topics that can often feel daunting. This event strengthened our ties with you and our local community. It affirmed our commitment to being more than just your real estate team. We’re here to support you in home ownership and planning.
And don’t worry if you missed it—stay tuned! We’re already planning more seminars and workshops for 2025. Our doors—and coffee—are always open! Register to be notified about the next Seminar HERE.
Recognized by Ventura County: Winning the “Reader Recommended” Award
One of the highlights of our year was being recognized as “Reader Recommended” by the Ventura County Reporter in 2024. This recognition is significant to us. It comes directly from the community we love and work hard for every day. Being recommended by local readers isn’t just a nod to our sales or numbers. It’s a testament to the trust. We have built relationships over the years right here in Ventura County.

We’re humbled by this support and grateful for everyone who took the time to vote for us. It’s truly an honor to know our efforts have made a difference. We offer exceptional service, market insight, and a personal touch. Winning “Reader Recommended” reminds us that real estate is more than transactions. It’s about community and connection. It is about helping our neighbors find a place they’re proud to call home. Thank you, Ventura County, for your trust and this incredible honor!
Our $2,500 Pledge to Ventura County’s Food Share
Giving back to our community was a priority this year. We decided to make a $2,500 pledge to Ventura County’s Food Share. We chose this instead of a traditional canned food drive. This donation allows us to make a bigger impact in supporting our neighbors facing food insecurity. We’re grateful to you, our clients, and friends for making it possible. We hope you’ll join us in this “can-do” spirit. Attend Food Share events or make a small donation. Help spread the word or simply cheer us on on social media.
So, Why the Blog Delay?
Yes, we know… a year without a blog post! We got so busy connecting with clients. We were hosting open houses and giving back to our community. Time just ran away from us. Our blog is now back in action. We’re excited to inform you about our latest real estate insights. We’ll also share local happenings and maybe even some fun taco tips. (Did we mention our love for tacos?)
Thank you, Ventura County, for an unforgettable 2024. We can’t wait to see and share what 2025 has in store. We’re here for every step of the journey. Whether you’re buying, selling, or just checking in to say hello!
